Objects are items, typically of significance, which appear within a narrative medium.

Items that hold significant importance to the plot and characters by being objects pursued by characters, acting as goals or catalysts for conflict, aiding in the resolution of conflicts, guiding characters on their journey, or holding a personal importance to a character.

Prop objects are items that primarily serve visual, or functional purposes within the story.
