Does anyone plan to render all the absorbed blocks?
I think it would be interesting, even if placed on a subpage or something like that. But I know it will be a lot of work. Aloi4 (talk) 22:52, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- I probably wouldn't expect it to happen, since a majority would be of little to no interest and there would be hundreds. π Image
FireDragons52 22:52, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- I did some quick calculations of the number of blocks.
- 61 Rubber Ball/Bouncy
- 25 Golf Ball/Fast Flat
- 4 Hockey Puck/Fast Sliding
- 2 High Resistance
- 16 Beach Ball/Light
- 29 (+16) Medicine Ball/Slow Flat
- 7 Curling Stone/Slow Sliding
- 1 Sticky
- 172 Football/Regular
- Total: 317(+16)
- That would be 317 renders... Quite a lot for just one page, but not much for the size of the wiki. Aloi4 (talk) 23:22, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- ~175% regarding the amount of rendering for this page: Java Edition removed blocks/Data variants. Without a doubt, the culfur cube's page is much more relevant, accessed, etc.
- The renderings may also appear on the block pages. Aloi4 (talk) 23:31, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- It's overkill, and would mean having to update 300+ renders in case they'll do so minor sulfur cube art adjustments. Having one example for each category is more than enough. --Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 23:39, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- We could wait a bit before rendering, waiting for the initial cube changes to be made. After that, if there are other changes, it's not so problematic to have specific renders not updated, provided there is a note about it. Perhaps you could create a project for that; if you have a decent number of people to render, it won't cost too much per person. Aloi4 (talk) 01:04, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- You could still do all the renders, on something like a subpage, such as Sulfur Cube/Renders π Image

BrandonEpicGamer (TALK) 17:05, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- A Sticky Cube behaves like an average immobile entity, which means it doesn't bounce nor slides but it can still moves when punching. Imagine an immobile pig, you can still push by hitting it.
- The golf ball thing stick to the ceiling is most likely a bug because that's not the intention. Also already mentioned in the Trivia section. Jaime-Spec MC (talk) 17:41, 2 April 2026 (UTC)

The example weapon used to attack the slime has been changed a few times.
- Initially it was netherite axe and it only showed its Java damage (with
{{only}}).
- I changed it to mace, as I thought it was better to have a weapon with a single damage output in both edition to avoid using
{{only}}.
- They changed it to diamond sword, showing its damage output for both editions in the example (with
{{in}}}).
I think it's always good to avoid using {{only}} or {{in}} on behavior that is the same in both editions, and the difference is only in the item used. But I understand that mace can be confusing because its damage can change in each case and it's not often used as a weapon for direct confrontation.
The only (see Melee attack Β§ Attack damage) other weapon that has the same damage for both versions is the trident. But it can still be a little confusing.
I'm unsure what to do:
- Leave a weapon that deals the same damage, even if it's not a very common weapon.
- Leave a weapon that deals different damage and specify the damage for each edition.
- Leave a weapon that deals damage, but don't explicitly state the damage (you could put something like >5), and only state that the effective damage is only 1.
It doesn't seem very important, but avoiding a "confusing" weapon or pointing out version differences that don't affect the article's behavior seems like a good way to make the text less confusing. For example, I wanted to remove the {{only}} because I glanced at it quickly and found it strange that it only applies to Java, since Mob doesn't even exist in Java yet. Aloi4 (talk) 02:45, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- I guess ideally the phrasing should be clearer so that no example is needed, as that actually seems tutorial-like to have a weapon included. ββMinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 02:55, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

Damage sources chart/list
[edit source]Latest comment: 8 April1 comment1 person in discussion
It might be helpful to have a section with damage sources listed and clarified. For this mob in particular, damage is very relevant and could be referred to often by players building minigames and such, but there are many edge cases like the warden's sonic boom or the wither effect from the wither's projectiles. mob aggro is a secondary consideration, since it seems to be arbitrary. Shorter term for sulfur cubes which have a block absorbed
[edit source]Latest comment: 21 April7 comments3 people in discussion
if there's already a term being used in the community it would be great to switch to it, it's unwieldy to say "a sulfur cube with a block absorbed" or similar in every instance. Azithoth (talk) 04:59, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

In Java , when a Sulfur Cube has a block it isn't supposed to in it, it has the following attributes.
- Knockback resistance: 0
- Bounciness: 0
- Friction modifier: 1
- Air drag modifier: 1
I believe in Bedrock the behaviour is defined separately from the block visible so this wouldn't happen. Does this fit anywhere in the article? π Image

Soft support because having only one absorbed state is a bit awkward (stone is arbitrary) and it's more clean like this. We already have a lot more information on the absorbed states bellow so it's redundant. TheCaptainYaya (talk) 01:33, 7 May 2026 (UTC)
