on your Apple Watch, get information about a variety of locations, and work with map pins.

Pan and zoom

  • Pan the map: Drag with one finger.

  • Zoom the map in or out: Turn the Digital Crown.

    You can also double-tap the map to zoom in on the spot you tap.

  • Go back to your current location: Tap πŸ‘ the Location button
    at the bottom left.

Get info about a landmark

  1. Tap the location marker on the map.

  2. Turn the Digital Crown to scroll through the information.

  3. Tap πŸ‘ the Close button
    in the top-left corner to return to the map.

Tap πŸ‘ the Driving Directions button
to get directions. To call the location, tap πŸ‘ the Call button
in the location info. To switch to your iPhone for the call, open the App Switcher. (On an iPhone with Face ID, swipe up from the bottom edge and pause; on an iPhone with a Home button, double-click the Home button.) Tap the button at the bottom of the screen to open Phone.

Mark a favorite location with a pin

You can add a location marker (pin) to save an important spot on the map, making it easy to find later. Use the marker to remember where you parked, mark a scenic viewpoint, or save a location you want to revisit.

  • Add a location marker: Touch and hold the map where you want to position the pin. In the Map Settings screen that appears, scroll down, then tap Mark Location.

  • Mark your current location: Tap the blue dot, then tap Mark My Location.

  • Get address information: Mark a location, then tap the marker.

  • Replace the marker: Mark a different location. (The previous marker is automatically removed.)

  • Remove the marker: Tap the marker to show the Marked Location screen, then tap πŸ‘ the Trash button
