A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal is an online video game created through the collaboration between A Minecraft Movie and McDonald's.

Gameplay

[edit | edit source]

The game consists of three rounds, each structured in two phases.

The restaurant the game takes place in.

The first phase is a type of Whac-A-Mole mini-game set in a restaurant. During the game, a skeleton and an evoker will randomly walk around the restaurant. The player must tap on Happy Meal boxes as they appear to collect resources. Depending on the player's region, the types of resources vary: some regions feature sticks, dirt, iron, and gold, while others feature fries, nuggets, apples, and smiles.[more information needed]

The second phase involves combining the collected items to craft three specific objects. If the player does not have enough materials to complete all the required crafts, they may repeat the item collection phase until they have gathered sufficient resources. The appearance of the objects varies by region: in some areas, they resemble items from the movie, while in others, they are visually styled to match the McDonald's brand design.[more information needed]

Synopsis

[edit | edit source]
The game's introduction

As the player walks towards a McDonald's restaurant, an Earth portal appears. After entering it and being sent to the Overworld, the restaurant becomes voxelated and the portal closes. The player meets Steve, Dawn and Garrett.

In the first round, Steve asks the player to craft a fry-a-phone, a smile armor (internally referred as to a box armor) and a golden glass. In exchange, he offers his satchel.

In the second round, Dawn asks the player to craft a happy house, a golden smile armor and an apple hat. In exchange, she offers a Earth Crystal.

In the third round, Garrett asks the player to craft an arch bucket, a mealcart and chick'n boots. In exchange, he offers the Orb of Dominance.

Once all three rounds are completed, the Earth Crystal and the Orb are combined inside Steve's satchel, reopening the portal. The player then enters the portal, and after exiting the Overworld, Steve, Dawn, and Garrett can be seen waving from the portal after the player turns around.
