Minecraft LIVE – May 2026 was a Minecraft LIVE event that occurred at TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026 on .[2][3] It was described as a "bonus" and "special" event that contained information about the third game drop of 2026.[4]

A recap of the features included in Chaos Cubed was shown, and the drop's release date was announced to be June 16, 2026.

Minecraft Dungeons II

Additional details for Minecraft Dungeons II were announced, including the Twisted Warden.

A Minecraft Movie Squared

The title for the film was officially revealed to be A Minecraft Movie Squared. It was also confirmed that Jack Black, Jason Momoa and Danielle Brooks would be returning as Steve, Garrett and Dawn respectively.

Kirsten Dunst was announced to be playing Alex, and Matt Berry was confirmed to be playing an unknown character.

Third game drop of 2026

The third game drop of 2026 was announced, featuring the dappled forest biome containing poplar trees, the abandoned camp structure, as well as wool stairs and wool slabs.

Livestream

The Twitch VOD recordings for the pre-show and show livestream are split into three parts given a broadcasting issue that made the recording non-continuous.

Incident

Before the community artwork pre-show and after the intermission screen, the Mojang Studios screen remained frozen for approximately 30 seconds.

After the reveal of A Minecraft Movie Squared, the livestream feed on YouTube unexpectedly crashed. However, the livestream feed on Twitch and the vertical version on YouTube remained operational. The livestream was later cut and re-uploaded on YouTube.

Location

The live event took place in the Twitch Rivals Arena at the Rotterdam Ahoy convention centre in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was rebroadcast both on the Cherry Grove Stage in the Minecraft Arena and in the NomNom Theatre on Floor 2 for attendees who were unable to secure a seat in the Twitch Rivals Arena or for those arriving late.[5]

Pre-show

The Midoffs: Live - a special edition of The Midoffs, hosted by Tobias James Smith (Tubbo) on , was the pre-show for this edition of Minecraft Live. It was hosted on the Cherry Grove Stage and lasted approximately 6 hours. The last part of the pre-show showcased community artwork.

Rewards

There are two capes announced that can be obtained from the event, the Crafter Cape and the Builder Cape.

Guests will receive an inventory ribbon from badge pickup and attach it to the player's badge. Then, they must participate in either Minecraft content sessions or activities to receive emerald stickers. Once guests collect three of them, they will take them to the Cape Trader, where they will give the player a cape card with a code. Players must redeem their codes to obtain the cape by June 30, 2026.[6]

It can be obtained by watching any livestream with Game Rewards for 5 mins on Twitch and 3 mins on TikTok.[6]

The Crafter Cape may be obtained by attending the in-person event. Participants need to collect three emeralds from three events to obtain the cape.

Trivia

  • This was the first Minecraft LIVE to mark the return of an actual live broadcast since Minecraft Live 2022, following the switch to pre-recorded form beginning with Minecraft Live 2023.
    • Consequently this was also the first Minecraft LIVE to be an in-person live show since MINECON Live 2019, being held at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
    • Additionally this was also the first Minecraft LIVE to be broadcasted live from a convention since MINECON 2016, that were held at the Anaheim Convention Center. This year, the event was held live at TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026.
  • Since it was an actual live event, Minecraft LIVE wasn't leaked beforehand this time.
