Endermites or ender-mites are hostile insects that are used as a death trap for Jesse, Lukas, Ivor, and Petra outside the Spooky Mansion. They are contained in a cave in A Portal to Mystery.

Behavior

Endermites scuttle in random circles, making noises. They were described as "eternally hungry" by Cassie Rose and do not react to objects falling near them.

History

After Jesse and the others tried to activate the fake Overworld portal, they fell into a cave filled with numerous endermites.

Trivia

  • Endermites' model in Minecraft was updated to a unique design in Java Edition 14w17a, released in 2014. However, in Minecraft: Story Mode, endermites still use the older model, despite A Portal to Mystery being released in 2016.
  • Endermites in Minecraft have a 5% chance to spawn when an ender pearl is thrown. It is unknown if Cassie Rose used this method to create them, though considering how inefficient and wasteful it would be, this seems unlikely.
