Squid are mollusks that live in various bodies of water and are widely known as a source of ink. They are passive mobs that swim aimlessly and are found in oceans, rivers, and in the pool of water inside Soren's fortress.

Squid swim gently through the water, opening and closing their tentacles as they drift forward. They are not hostile and do not attack. When threatened, they try to flee, and if grabbed, they swim around erratically to escape.

In The Order of the Stone, Jesse grabbed one of the squids to collect ink sacs for use in the EnderCon Building Competition. Later in the same episode, squids could be seen swimming beneath Jesse and Petra after they fell off a bridge.

In "Assembly Required", squids were visible underwater while Jesse, Lukas, and Reuben swam inside Soren's fortress.

In "Access Denied", a squid ended up on Jesse’s head after emerging from an unknown portal.
