Horses are domesticated mammals that people use as transportation. Jesse and their friends used horses in A Block and a Hard Place to escape the wither storm.
Like most animals, horses wander around aimlessly, occasionally stopping to rear, flick their tails, or lower their heads as though eating the grass. They can be tamed and ridden for transportation.
Horses could be seen near the exit of Soren's fortress, inside a fenced area.
After the wither storm was revived, all mobs around the area, including the horses, ran away. Jesse and the others spotted the horses and used them to escape.
As the group took a rest in a cave, Jesse could choose to tell their horse that they were glad it had come to their and asked not to tell Reuben. After resting and making a plan, Jesse and the other rode the horses on their way to the Far Lands.
In a swamp near the Far Lands, the group was attacked by skeletons and a witch, causing the horses to run away.
In the post-credits scene, after seeing a prismarine colossus heading toward Beacontown, Lukas rode off on his horse.
Lukas, together with his horse, joined Jesse's fight against the Admin.
