A computer can be programmed to such an extent that it gains the ability to think, make independent decisions, and become self-aware. In other words, it can have an artificial intelligence. Each time a computer processes information, it may take a moment for the processing to complete, which can lead to distractions such as self-contradictory thoughts. It is unknown whether computers can experience emotions, however, it can show expressions that resemble anger or excitement, such as how PAMA displays angry and happy faces on its screen.
A redstone computer known as Prototype: Autonomous Management Agent (PAMA) was created by Harper to automate tasks such as mining and farming and to put monsters into use. It later deemed the citizens of Crown Mesa to be inefficient and attempted to control them. Jesse and their friends encountered it in Access Denied and deactivated it during their final confrontation.
