Biography

[edit | edit source]
Spoiler warning! This section contains detailed information about Minecraft Legends that may spoil your enjoyment of it. Read at your own risk!

Before the events of the game, the Great Hog was sitting at their planning map table with the horde generals. The Beast raised their hand to give the Great Hog a Horde of the Hunt banner, which the Great Hog promptly slammed onto a place on the map. The Beast nodded in agreement of the chosen area the Great Hog had chosen, and sent piglins from the horde of the hunt towards the portal, eliciting maniacal laughter.

Foresight afterwards sensed the evil of the Great Hog coming for the Overworld. They proceed to tell Action and Knowledge to come with them to the Overworld to investigate the nether portal. Assessing the situation, they then recruit the Hero to stop the piglins and the Great Hog.

Sometime later, the Hero defeated multiple piglin outposts, angering the Great Hog. The Hog began to contemplate their loss, holding the Beast in a chokehold. They throw the Beast towards a wall, injuring them. The Great Hog then angrily called upon the Seer, and pointed towards a location on the map, deciding it to be their next target. The Seer responds by ordering four piglins to bring them a beacon. After the piglins bring the beacon to the Seer, they corrupt the beacon using the Orb of Dominance, where the Great Hog was mesmerized by the Seer's magic at work. The Seer then tells the piglins to place the corrupted beacon within the Night Beacon. Once it is placed, the corrupted beacon activates, shrouding the Overworld in an eternal night.

In spite of the odds, the Hero successfully destroys the night beacon. Reacting to the development, a panicked piglin runs through the nether portal towards the Great Hog and their generals to tell them the night beacon was destroyed. After hearing their news, the Great Hog grew more furious and started to beat the piglin to death with their generals.

While the war in the Overworld rages on, the Great Hog's generals travel to the Overworld one by one to try and kill the Hero, all of them failing and dying in the process. Three piglins of each horde bring the former generals' artifacts to the Great Hog's throne room: the Devourer's back pink spore, the Unbreakable's arm cannon, and the Beast's bone mask. The Great Hog grows furious, confused at how the hero had taken down some of their strongest allies, and throws the three piglins to the sky. The Seer then approaches the Great Hog and enchants the Great Hog's staff with a magical power. Feeling stronger and more powerful, the Great Hog destroys a replica Well of Fate to show their new dominance. They proceed to head towards a Nether portal, finally seeing the Overworld on the other side. The Great Hog immediately notices the Well of Fate, and now knowing their new target, they roar and break the Nether portal that they came through, using their staff to gather the portal's obsidian to power it.

The Hero rushed towards the Well of Fate for the final battle, and the Overworld's freedom from the piglins. While trying to break the Well of Fate, the Great Hog noticed the Hero approaching it. They stop their rampaging to the Well of Fate to face the hero, and begins to charge at them. After a ferocious and long battle between them and the Hero, the Great Hog is weakened by the Overworld allied mobs. The Great Hog defeats most of the mobs attacking them, knocking them back and with all their remaining strength. As a last resort, they try to destroy the Well of Fate by throwing their staff towards it, but the magic inside the staff backfires, causing a massive Nether rift to appear in the sky. After the rift opened, all of the piglins in the Overworld begin to get sucked into it, all of them now being sent back into the Nether. The Great Hog then finally collapses in defeat and dies.

Appearance

[edit | edit source]

The Great Hog is a massive crimson-skinned piglin with light purple, sparse scars that glow, as well as lavender eyes surrounded by some of the scars. A T-shaped gold headpiece rests on their head, complete with a pair of twisted bone horns. They have a pair of long L-shaped tusks while two gold earrings are pierved through each ear. Wooden planks, possibly of the dark oak variant, are revealed from beneath their skin in their arms and abdomen. Mottled, spiked netherite plates cover most of the wooden parts of their body, being more common on their left arm as they are overlapping. Chains connect the abdomen plate to the back, to which two similar spears are strapped. One more spear is also wielded by their netherite-covered left hand. Each spear is made of netherite, tipped with a spiked, rusted block which is in turn tipped with an L-shaped bone. A spongy spore block is strapped to the spear by a cyan vine. The Great Hog wields their staff by their right hand, which is made of rusted and mottled netherite plating with spikes seen on it, as well as obsidian inside resembling a broken Nether portal frame. Wooden plating with netherite plating on top covers their legs.

[edit | edit source]

The Great Hog spawns at the Well of Fate after the player successfully defeats the Beast, the Devourer, and the Unbreakable. Additionally, a base constituted by elements of the three piglin hordes surrounds the Great Hog and the Well of Fate when the former spawns.
