Get started with the Apple TV app on iPad

With the Apple TV app 👁 Image
, all your favorite TV shows, movies, and sports are in one place. Learn how to get started.

Before you can subscribe to Apple TV channels or buy or rent movies, you need to sign in to your Apple Account. Go to the Settings app 👁 Image
, then tap Apple Account.

Subscribe to Apple TV or Apple TV channels

Subscribe to Apple TV and Apple TV channels to watch Apple Originals, Major League Soccer, and more. Go to the Apple TV app 👁 Image
, then tap Apple TV or Store at the top of the screen. When prompted, tap the subscription button, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Find something to watch

Tap the Home tab at the top of the screen to see next episodes, new releases, personalized recommendations, and much more, all in one place. You can also tap 👁 the Search button
to look for TV shows and movies by specific categories like title, cast, or sports.

Stream shows, movies, sports, and more

To start streaming content, tap a TV show, movie, or sporting event, then tap Play or How to Watch. Content from Apple TV and Apple TV channels plays in the Apple TV app, while content from other providers plays in their video app.

View your library

Your library contains shows and movies you purchased, rented, and downloaded. If you use Family Sharing, you can also view purchases made by family members. To view your library, tap 👁 the Sidebar button
, then tap Recent Purchases, Movies, Rentals, Downloaded, or Genres.
