The piglin merchant is a camp merchant that sells the hero gilded gear and takes gold as currency rather than emeralds. It appears in the Camp after the hero has obtained gold in Ancient Hunt or obtaining it gold from the adventure hub. It resides within the Nether Room of the Camp, where it is able to survive without zombifying.
Upon arriving in the camp, the piglin merchant is not affected by Overworld zombification and may be better at getting profits than the other camp merchants,[1] which is due to their really obsessive love of gold.[2]
The piglin merchant once tried to barter with the luxury merchant to obtain one piece of gold. It tried to barter a piece of meat, a fireworks arrow, a baby chicken, and a fishing rod, only to realize in the end that villagers only deal in emeralds.[3]
The piglin merchant gives items to the hero in exchange for gold. They sell gilded items to heroes. Heroes can unlock more trades with the merchant by completing Ancient Hunt repeatedly, requiring three completions of Ancient Hunt for the first trade unlock and fifteen for the second. The hero can restock their trades with gold or by completing Ancient Hunt.
