A watchling is a hostile enderling that is an enderman variant that can be found within the Echoing Void DLC of Minecraft Dungeons. Watchlings blink more often than other mobs, due to their amount of eyes, which makes them unique.
There were many different subspecies of endermen that resided within the End, and it did not take the heroes long to meet them. These subspecies were collectively known as enderlings. Watchlings were accounted as being the creepiest enderlings due to their appearance. Despite this, however, they preferred to defend their home in simple ways. As such upon detecting the heroes, they immediately teleported over, striking them with "muscular" arms. The heroes eventually prevailed against them, making their way to the Broken Citadel, where they put a final end to the Orb of Dominance once and for all.[1]
Missions
Summoned
Teleport
Upon noticing a hero, the watchling teleports toward them, similar to endermen.
Basic attack
After teleporting, the watchling swings its arms at the hero, dealing moderate damage.
Heavy attack
After teleporting, the watchling may attack by swinging both of its arms downward, dealing high damage.
Teleport escape
Also like endermen, watchlings can hide in teleportation and not immediately reappear.
Teleportation on damage
Similar to endermen, watchlings teleport upon taking damage.
The idle, hurt and death of the watchling include distorted zombie enderling sounds.
