Tutorial:Resin farming

Resin is a rare but useful resource. It can be crafted into blocks of resin, a scaffolding/building block that can be instantly mined, and smelted into resin bricks, which can be used for either building or armor trimming. To obtain resin, you'll have to visit a pale garden biome, which are one of the rarest biomes to find. Once you have obtained at least a creaking heart or 9 resin clumps, you can create a resin farm and obtain an infinite amount of it.

This tutorial teaches you how to find a pale garden, how to obtain a creaking heart, and how to create a resin farm with the creaking heart(s) you've obtained.

• Find a pale garden biome.
  • However they are rare and not easy to find.
  • Usually next to dark forests in highland areas.
  • Bring a Silk Touch axe, as it's needed to collect the creaking heart.
  • Once you're in the pale garden, wait until night time to hunt for creakings.
  • You can light the area up, so hostile mobs except creakings don't spawn.
  • After night comes, you can look for a creaking, hit it, and see where its particles go.
  • Each time you hit it, a trail of particles connects it to the creaking heart that spawns it.
  • This will also generate resin clumps on the pale oak tree with the heart in it.
  • Make sure you walk backwards while facing the creaking, this way it's locked in place.
  • Once you break the creaking heart, the creaking dies, and you're awarded 20-24 experience.
  • Make sure to collect some pale oak saplings and logs, you'll need it for the farm.
  • Alternatively, you can set the pale garden biome on fire, since creaking hearts don't burn.
• Find a woodland mansion.
  • There are explorer maps leading to them, which make them much easier to find.
  • Chests in mansions can contain resin clumps.
  • Once you obtain 9 clumps, you can craft a creaking heart.
  • Need 2 pale oak logs, can obtain from wandering trader (or sapling).
  • This can be helpful if your pale garden biome is too small and doesn't have a heart.

• Can only be built in the Overworld.
• Creakings spawn at night at get funneled into attacking chamber.
• Player attacks creakings every 5 seconds to generate resin clumps on pale oak logs around creaking hearts.
• Use pistons to push pale oak logs so resin clumps fall off into water streams / hoppers for collection.
