A sulfur spring is a feature that can be found on the Overworld surface above sulfur caves and consists of a pool of water surrounded by sulfur, sulfur spikes, and other rocks. The water pool contains potent sulfur that periodically erupts, creating a geyser.

Description

[edit | edit source]

Sulfur springs generate only above sulfur caves on the surface in any overworld biome. They are small ponds surrounded by sulfur, cinnabar, tuff, granite, and sulfur spikes containing potent sulfur and magma blocks in a configuration suitable for geysers.

They come in 10 variants across four sizes, with rarity increasing with size.

[edit | edit source]
  • The first iteration of sulfur springs was inspired by geyser mounds before Mojang settled on the name "spring". The second iteration was inspired by volcanic and sulfur-rich formations such as the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park.[2]
