Beta 26.30.25 (ChromeOS, Android), Preview 26.30.25 (Windows, iOS, iPadOS, Xbox), or Preview 26.30.26 (PlayStation) is the second beta/Preview for Bedrock Edition 26.30,[1] released for most platforms on April 30, 2026, and for PlayStation on May 1, 2026, which adds geysers, the explosive sulfur cube archetype, and fixes bugs.

Changes

[edit | edit source]

Blocks

[edit | edit source]

Potent sulfur

  • When placed above a magma block and under 1–4 water source blocks, it creates a geyser.
    • The geyser will erupt at 50 second intervals, shooting a plume of water particles upwards and applying an upward impulse to entities above it for 4–5 seconds.
    • Entities directly above the potent sulfur block during an eruption will be launched into the air, but will not take damage from the eruption.
    • The height of the plume and how high anything gets launched depends on the number of water blocks above the potent sulfur blocks, with the total height being about 7 blocks above the potent sulfur block for each water block.

Sulfur spike

  • Re-added to the Creative inventory.
  • Wandering traders can now sell sulfur spikes.
  • Four sulfur spikes can now be used to craft one sulfur block.

Skeleton and stray

Sulfur cube

  • Added the "Explosive" archetype, with similar properties to the "Regular" archetype except for a slightly higher air drag.
    • Used when absorbing a TNT block.
    • Absorbed TNT can be primed by redstone, fire sources (including a dispenser with a flint and steel) or nearby explosions.
    • When primed by fire or redstone, absorbed TNT uses a fuse time of 6 seconds.
    • When primed by an explosion, absorbed TNT uses a randomized fuse time between 0.75 and 3 seconds.
    • Sulfur cubes with an absorbed, primed TNT block cannot be picked up with a bucket, damaged, or sheared.
    • On explosion, no small sulfur cubes are spawned, and the sulfur cube disappears.
  • Small sulfur cubes no longer occasionally spawn from buckets of sulfur cube.

World generation

[edit | edit source]

Sulfur caves

  • Sulfur springs once again generate above sulfur caves.
  • Sulfur springs are now less likely to destroy trees.
  • Canyons can now correctly carve through cinnabar and sulfur.

General

[edit | edit source]

Graphical

  • Volumetric fog can now be key framed to change with the time of day. The following settings in the fog definition now support key frames:
    • Max Density
    • Zero Density Height
    • Max Density Height
    • Scattering
    • Absorption
    • Henyey-Greenstein G (Vibrant Visuals only)

Realms

  • Updated the Minecraft EULA link displayed in the Realms Core and Realms Plus subscription screens to use the locale-agnostic minecraft.net/eula URL.
  • Updated store name on Switch.
  • Added icons to the Story feed, Members, Slots, and Saves subtabs in the Realms Hub.

Settings

  • Added a "Panorama Scroll Speed" slider to the video settings that controls the rotation speed of the main menu panorama.
  • Updated the Creator tab with Ore UI.

UI

  • Crafting preview now shows the correct wood items when selected in the recipe book. Recipes containing different wood materials now show the variants related to the materials the player owns.
  • Players are now informed when their skin is not compatible with cross-platform multiplayer and can choose to proceed when creating or starting a world.
  • + Left/Right arrow now correctly moves the cursor by word in Ore UI text fields on Windows.
  • Double tap or click now selects a word, and triple selects all text in Ore UI text fields.
  • Tap and drag now moves the cursor in Ore UI text fields.
  • Tap and hold now allows selecting text in Ore UI text fields.
  • Added ContentCard component to display Marketplace items with pricing, ratings, and content badges.
  • Removed the social drawer from the main menu, create new world/edit world screen, and profile screen once again.

Technical

[edit | edit source]

AI Goals

  • Made schemas for the following goals stricter when parsing and will fail to load an entity json that has invalid data in versions 1.26.30 and newer:
    • minecraft:behavior.make_love
    • minecraft:behavior.receive_love
    • minecraft:behavior.skeleton_horse_trap
    • minecraft:behavior.swell

Biome Components

  • The following biome components have been taken out of beta and are available starting with the "1.26.30" format version:
    • minecraft:surface_builder with the new type minecraft:noise_gradient
    • minecraft:subsurface_builder

Commands

  • Change how the localization process percentage signs in formatted strings: a numbered form with an invalid parameter will be left as it is.

Entity Components

  • The following entity components have been taken out of beta and are available starting with the "1.26.30" format version:
    • minecraft:apply_knockback_rules
    • minecraft:pushable_by_entity
    • minecraft:bounciness
    • minecraft:air_drag_modifier
  • Added the use_self_as_damage_source property to the minecraft:area_attack component.
    • If set to false, other entities won't retaliate against the attacking entity.

Network Protocol

  • Modified the binary format of BossEventPacket.

Experimental

[edit | edit source]

These additions and changes are accessible by enabling the "Beta APIs", "Upcoming Creator Features", "Render Dragon Features for Creators", and "Experimental Voxel Shape Features" experimental toggles.

Changes

[edit | edit source]

Technical

[edit | edit source]

API

  • Added the SoundInstance class to beta with a stop method that allows stopping a playing sound.
  • Dimension.playSound now returns a SoundInstance in beta.
  • Player.playSound now returns a SoundInstance in beta.

Blocks

  • Added snow logging behavior for multi-blocks.

Graphical

  • Point lights are now disabled on unsupported hardware (Android, PS4, Xbox One).
  • Added Molang support to all keyframed properties.

Voxel Shapes

  • Added voxel shapes for 46 blocks that change geometry during runtime based on player interactions or the environment. These shapes need the Voxel Shapes experiment to be enabled. These shapes improve face culling so that hidden faces between adjacent blocks are correctly removed:
    • Dripleaf shape (3 blocks): Big Dripleaf, Big Dripleaf Tilt Partial, and Big Dripleaf Tilt Full.
    • Fence shape (13 blocks): Fence for each wood type.
    • Fence Gate shape (26 blocks): Fence Gate and Fence Gate In Wall for each wood type.
