Buzzy Bees is a major update; mainly focused on bees and the items relating to them, as well as also fixing bugs from previous versions. The update was released on December 10, 2019, only for the Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft.^[1][2]

This update was released on Java Edition as version 1.15. This update's development started with snapshot 19w34a, which was released on August 22, 2019.^[3] The first pre-release for Java Edition 1.15 was released on November 21, 2019, followed by the second on November 25, the third on November 28, the fourth on December 3, the fifth on December 5, the sixth on December 6 and the seventh on December 9.^[4]

It was released on Bedrock Edition as version 1.14.0.

Additionally, this update was released for Minecraft Education in 1.14.31 on August 7, 2020.

For the China Edition, the full update was released on July 16, 2020.

The official name for the update, Buzzy Bees was revealed on November 21, 2019, in a blog post on Minecraft.net.^[4]

Bee nest

• Are the homes of bees.
• Fill up with honey which can be collected through glass bottles.
• Can also use shears for honeycombs.

• Can be crafted using 6 wood planks and 3 honey combs.
• An artificial home for the bees.
• Fill up with honey which can be collected through glass bottles.
• Can also use shears for honeycombs.

Honey block

• Crafted using four honey bottles.
• Entities touching their sides slide down slowly.
• A player or mob can only jump ³⁄₁₆ blocks high on honey blocks.
• Take away some fall damage upon falling onto it.
• Blocks adjacent to the honey block are moved when the honey block is moved by a piston.
  • When used in tangent with a slime block, the honey block does not move.

• Obtained by using a glass bottle on a beehive or bee nest.

  ) hunger and gives 1.2 hunger saturation.
• Remove the Poison effect when consumed like milk.
• Also used to craft a honey block.

Honeycomb

• Obtained by shearing bee nests and beehives.
• Used to craft a honeycomb block.

• A flying neutral arthropod that spawn near beehives.

  Attack in groups if provoked.
  • Inflict Poison.

    After attacking once, they become passive, loose their stinger and die shortly after.
• 👁 Image
  Can pollinate crops, making them grow faster when passing over them in a pollinated state.
• Avoids water.
• Homeless bees wander around searching for empty beehives.
• Can be bred with flowers.

Campfire

• Can be used to prevent bees from aggravating when under a been nest or beehive.

Composter in Java Edition

• Now crafted with wooden slabs instead of fences and wooden planks to match Bedrock Edition.

Crafting table

• When the GUI is opened, + clicking an item or a stack in the inventory now transfers it directly into the crafting grid.

Dark prismarine

• Now crafted from black dye instead of ink sacs.

Dispensers

• Can now harvest honeycombs when dispensing shears on bee nests and beehives filled with honey.
  • The honeycomb items are dropped on the ground.
• Can now collect honey bottles when dispensing glass bottles on beehives.
• Can now collect water bottles when dispensing glass bottles on water.
• Can now place down armor stands.

Iron golem in Java Edition

• Now cracks as they take damage.
• Can be repaired using iron ingots.

• 1.15.1 was released to fix some bugs.
• 1.15.2 added new game rules, made some changes for bees and fixed some bugs.

• 1.14.0.12 was released exclusively on PS4 to fix several bugs related to the Bedrock Edition PS4 launch.
• 1.14.1 and 1.14.20 were released to fix even more bugs.
• 1.14.21 was released exclusively on Fire OS devices to fix more bugs.
• 1.14.30 was released to fix even more bugs.
• 1.14.41 was released exclusively on PS4 to fix several bugs related to the Bedrock Edition PS4 launch.
• 1.14.60 was released to fix even more bugs.

A trailer for the update was released on December 11, 2019.
