A stone pressure plate is a stone variant of the pressure plate that can detect only players and mobs.

Obtaining

[edit | edit source]

Breaking

[edit | edit source]

A stone pressure plate can be mined with anything, but pickaxes are the fastest. A stone pressure plate also breaks and drops itself if a piston extends or pushes a block into its location, or if the block under the pressure plate is moved or destroyed.

  1. ↑ These durations ignore any other influential factors (e.g., Mining Fatigue) and are measured in seconds. For more information, see Breaking Β§ Speed.

Natural generation

[edit | edit source]

One stone pressure plate is generated naturally in each desert pyramid. Stone pressure plates can also generate in ancient cities.

Activation

[edit | edit source]

Stone pressure plates are activated only by mobs, players and armor stands, unlike other pressure plates.

After being activated, a stone pressure plate periodically checks every 20 game ticks if there are still entities on top of it. If none are found, the pressure plate returns to its inactive state.

The signal strength emitted by a stone pressure plate is always 15.

Stone pressure plates can be activated by the passenger of a minecart, but not by the minecart itself.
