The torch (burnt-out) is a joke feature introduced exclusively in Java Edition 2.0. They are created when a normal torch burns out.

Obtaining

[edit | edit source]

Breaking

[edit | edit source]

Like a normal torch, a burnt-out torch breaks instantly and drops itself when broken using anything. Tools do not lose durability when used to break burnt-out torches.

Block πŸ‘ Image
Hardness 0
Breaking time (secs)
Default 0.05
Legend
  • incorrect tool, drops nothing
  • correct tool, drops nothing or something other than the block itself
  • correct tool, drops the block itself
  • italicized can be instant mined

After a normal torch is placed, when it is random ticked, it becomes a burnt-out torch.

Usage

[edit | edit source]

Burnt-out torches can be re-lit with flint and steel, turning them back into regular torches.
