Sandstone is a solid block related to sand that comes in two color variants, the other being red sandstone. Regular sandstone is commonly found in deserts and beaches. Sandstone also has three decorative variants: chiseled sandstone, cut sandstone, and smooth sandstone.
Sandstone can be mined with any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing.
Regular sandstone generates in deserts and beaches compressed underneath several blocks of sand. It generates at noise cave entrances in desert and beach biomes.
Sandstone can also generate as part of desert wells, desert villages, desert pyramids, and warm ocean ruins.
Unlike sand, sandstone is never affected by gravity.
