Nether bricks are the building blocks of Nether fortresses in the Nether and are used to spawn mobs in that structure.

Obtaining

[edit | edit source]

Breaking

[edit | edit source]

Nether bricks can be mined using any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, they drop nothing.

  1. ↑ These durations ignore any other influential factors (e.g., Mining Fatigue) and are measured in seconds. For more information, see Breaking Β§ Speed.

Natural generation

[edit | edit source]

Nether bricks form the walls and supporting pillars of all Nether fortresses.

Usage

[edit | edit source]

Nether bricks are non-flammable and immune to ghast fireballs, making them a suitable shelter material for the Nether.

If a Nether bricks block is inside the whole bounding box of a Nether fortress (not just inside the individual parts), Nether fortress mobs (such as blazes and wither skeletons) can spawn on it if other normal conditions are met.
