A red shrub is a non-solid plant block found in dappled forests. Red shrubs are not biome tinted like most other plants, keeping their red color regardless of the biome they are placed in.

Obtaining

[edit | edit source]

Breaking

[edit | edit source]

A red shrub can be broken instantly with any item or by hand, dropping itself.

Block πŸ‘ Image
Hardness 0
Breaking time (secs)
Default 0.05
Legend
  • incorrect tool, drops nothing
  • correct tool, drops nothing or something other than the block itself
  • correct tool, drops the block itself
  • italicized can be instant mined

A red shrub also breaks and drops itself if water or lava runs over its location, if a piston extends or pushes a block into its location, or if the block under the plant is moved or destroyed.

Placing any block on a red shrub replaces the shrub without dropping anything.

Natural generation

[edit | edit source]

Red shrubs occasionally generate in patches in dappled forests.

Post-generation

[edit | edit source]

Using bone meal on a red shrub attempts to grow another red shrub on a neighboring block.

Usage

[edit | edit source]

Red shrubs are a decorative plant and can be placed on any of the following blocks:

Red shrubs cannot be placed inside flower pots.

Red shrub cannot be snowlogged, unlike several other plants in Bedrock Edition.

Composting

[edit | edit source]

Placing a red shrub into a composter has a 30% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
