The obsidian boat was a joke boat variant included in Java Edition 15w14a.
Unlike other boats, obsidian boats sink in water instead of floating and are resistant to fire and lava.
Obsidian boats use the "Friendly Creatures" sound category for entity-dependent sound events, although they do not have any sounds of their own.
